En Karanlık Ruhani Rüyaya Davet: Kentaro Miura’dan Berserk Manga İncelemesi

İnsanları yaşama bağlayan birçok farklı etken olabilir. Düşüncenin peşindeki Dekartçılar, zevkin peşindeki hedonistler, paranın peşindeki realistler, gerçeğin peşindeki bilim adamları, inançlılar vb. Bir de mensubu az olsa da hayallerin peşindeki hayalperestler vardır. Descartes’in “Düşünüyorum, öyleyse varım” sözüne “Hayal ediyorum, öyleyse varım” ile alternatif sunarlar. Herge’nin Ten Ten’i ve Jule Verne’in kitapları ile başlayan yolculuğumda önemli yapıtaşlarından biride uzak doğudan Japonya’dan Kentaro Miura’nın Berserk isimli mangasıdır.
Kentaro Miura(RIP), 6 Mayıs itibari ile vefat ettiği için 1989 yılından günümüze devam eden serisi Berserk’i ne yazık ki tamamlayamamıştır. Protagonistimiz Gutz’ın yolculuğunun sonunu hiç bilemeyeceğiz. Peki ne demişti Ralph Waldo Emerson? “Mutluluk varılacak bir yer değil, yolculuğun kendisidir”. Bu sebeple sizi, belki de gelmiş geçmiş en iyi manga ile tanıştırmanın tam da zamanı olabilir.
Karanlık ve fantastik bir seri istediğimizde belki de aklımıza gelen ilk seridir Kentaro Miura’nın Berserk’i. Bir diğeri için Hirayo Oku tarafından yazılmış olan Gantz’a bakabilirsiniz. Berserk, 1989’daki başlangıcından bu yana karanlık metnin zirvesi olarak akıllarda yer edinmiştir. Yalnızca bir intikam hikayesini ve insan ile kader arasındaki ebedi mücadeleyi göstermekle kalmaz, aynı zamanda dostluk, yalnızlık, insan doğasının en kötü yönleri, iyi ve kötü gibi temaları da inceler. Tasvir edilmesi bile imkansız, öyle karanlık bir dünya yaratmış ki Miura, en güçlü süpernovalar bile yetmez bu karanlık sisin üzerindeki örtüyü kaldırmaya.
Berserk’in mükemmel bir hikayesi olduğunu göz ardı etmeden, Miura’nın sanatı olmadan hiçbir şey ifade etmeyeceğini de eklemeliyim. Bir fantastik seri de gördüğümüz belki de en karanlık dünya da kalan Guts’ın, düşmanları ile savaşırken hissettiklerini, kılıcını etrafa sallarken gösterdiği saf vahşiliği; kalemiyle anlatıyor bize Miura.
Berserk’e giriş yapmak isteyenler için öncelikle manga serisini okumalarını öneririm. Guts, Griffith, havariler ve diğer karakterler, Miura’nın çizimleri ile yaşıyor, nefes alıyorlar. Her ne kadar sert, acımasız ve bazen gerçekten okuması zor olsa da karanlık zevklere sahip olanlar için Miura’nın şaheserinden zevk almaktan daha değerli bir şey yok.
Not: Şiddetle Hidetaka Miyazaki’nin Souls serilerinin Berserk’den yoğun bir şekilde etkilendiğini düşündüğümü belirtmek isterim. Belki de o yüzden benim için çok önemliler.
Not 2: RIP yani Rest in Peace, huzur içinde uyu anlamına gelmektedir.
